Why it matters
A deadline pushes you to oversize near the end, which is how most accounts breach. Without one, a slow, steady strategy works: 0.3% a day still clears an 8% target in about 27 trading days. Use the profit-target calculator to check your own pace.
Watch for inactivity rules. A firm can drop the deadline but still close accounts with no trades for 30 days.

FAQ
Do prop firms still have time limits?
Most large firms dropped them between 2023 and 2025, but some programs, especially instant or promotional ones, still set deadlines. Check the program, not only the firm.
Figures are pulled from our dataset at build time. Scores use the published formula. Changes are logged on rule changes.
